Celebrate your birthday by fundraising

Happy Birthday!

It’s amazing that you want to celebrate your special day by making a difference to others in your local community and NHS.

By asking for donations, you’ll help make your birthday even more magical, as every penny you receive will go back towards making Nottingham hospitals the very best they can be. You can choose to support a specific area or ward, or you can support our General Fund and the money will go where it is needed most.

Your donations will support Nottingham’s NHS hospitals, by helping us to fund life-changing equipment, ground-breaking research and enhancing care for patients and their families.

How do I set up a birthday fundraiser?

There are many ways you can raise money on your birthday.

Create a Facebook Fundraiser

Facebook is great tool to use to fundraise on your birthday as it’s really easy to set up, it only takes a few minutes and you can share your fundraiser on your news feed with your friends and family. Follow the easy steps below to create your fundraiser:
  • Set up a Facebook fundraising page and select Nottingham Hospitals Charity.
  • Choose when you want to close your fundraiser. You can keep it open for as long as you like, or choose a time period such as a week or a month.
  • Write a little to explain why you’ve chosen to raise money for Nottingham hospitals. Whether it’s because they looked after you or a loved one, or you just want to give back, no matter the reason, you’ll be helping to support nurses, doctors and patients across Nottingham.
That’s it! It’s that easy to set up a Facebook Fundraiser and encourage donations for your birthday.

It’s really simple to set up:

  • Set up an account on JustGiving
  • Select ‘Nottingham Hospitals Charity’ as your cause
  • Complete the form with your details and create your page with your special message
  • Share, share, share amongst all your friends and family

There is so much that you can include on your page, from images, videos and updates which will make your page stand out.

How to get the most out of your birthday fundraising

  • Set your fundraising target and keep sharing it regularly with your friends and family who can help you reach your goal.
  • Make sure you ask people to add Gift Aid. If they are a UK taxpayer, we receive an additional 25% from the Government at no additional cost to you or your supporter.
  • If you choose to fundraise through JustGiving, the platform allows you to create a QR code which you can share with your friends and family and when you are out and about, so they can scan on their smart phone and make a donation online.
