We are here to support your hospitals

We are your dedicated Nottingham Hospitals Charity team, working hard to make sure the money you donate gets right to the heart of your local hospitals.

Our team is here to support you with your fundraising, plus we organise appeals, campaigns and events which help to support what the hospitals need each year. We also work really closely with our colleagues within the hospitals themselves, to meet the staff, teams and departments where your money is being put to use. We’re on hand if you need any advice on making a donation, leaving a legacy or holding your own fundraising event. So please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Barbara has been at the Charity since it formed in October 2006. She sets the strategy and oversees the fundraising and fund expenditure of the Charity. In her spare time she enjoys running, walking, traveling and being with her family.

Julie has worked at the Charity since 2008 and oversees our finance and governance arrangements to ensure that all our income and expenditure is properly accounted for. Her hobbies are reading, gardening and spending time with her family, including her two daughters.

Director of Development

Nigel joins the Charity, bringing with him 17 years of experience in fundraising, several of these years spent working with Outward Bound West and the American Alpine Club helping them to develop their fundraising and communications strategy. As Director of Development, Nigel is responsible for overseeing all fundraising activity as well as developing and implementing an ambitious fundraising strategy to ensure that the Charity meets its potential and can build on its fundraising success.

Louise Knight

Louise Knight

Head of Fundraising

Louise joined the Charity in September 2018. Following over 13 years working in the private sector, Louise began working as Fundraising Manager for the Stroke Association in 2009. Prior to moving into the charity sector, Louise has previously worked for Vitabiotics, Alessi UK, Whatman International and Neal’s yard Remedies in Sales and Marketing Management roles. Louise has experience in managing existing community relationships and identifying new opportunities for support and income from individuals, groups, event participants and local corporates. Louise lives in Nottingham with her husband and two young children.

Marianne’s role involves building relationships with companies who support charitable projects at Nottingham’s hospitals. Out of work Marianne is kept busy spending time with her large family, when she does have time to herself she loves working her way through the latest television box set.

Community Fundraiser

Neve joined the Charity as an apprentice and having developed her experience there and then subsequently as the Fundraising Assistant, is now one of the Charity’s Fundraisers. In her spare time Neve enjoys spending time with her family and friends and baking which she has had a love for since a young age.

Claire has a background in PR and digital agencies, having worked with big brands like RSPCA, emh group and Blue Light Card. Her priority is building the Charity’s profile, both with donors, the local community and online. In her spare time, Claire is a bit obsessed with her spin bike, and loves travelling to new places.

Jayne Quantrill

Grants Manager

Jayne leads the Charity grant making process; establishing relationships with Hospital staff at all levels, providing advice and guidance to grant applicants and overseeing grant evaluations and follow up. She works closely with the communications team to ensure promotion of grant-making activity and with the Charity’s Fundraising Team to capture the impact of the Charity grant making program. She brings 5 years’ experience from a national grant making organisation and 3 years of partnership working with NHS England, Public Health England and the Care Quality Commission to the role.

Income Manager

Amanda has worked for the Charity since 2012. In her spare time she loves being outside, be it camping, hiking or gardening. She also loves music, and enjoys playing the piano and learning the ukulele. Her role involves overseeing the Charity’s database of donors, ensuring the accurate receipt and recording of all donations.

Richard has been at the Charity since 1999. His main role is to the oversee the grant approval process and administer funding to projects at the hospitals. In his spare time he likes to follow cricket, listen to music, go to the cinema, eat out and read. He has recently started cycling to work having not been on a bike for 30 years!

Carly co-ordinates the Zephyr’s centre and the services it offers bereaved parents who have lost a pregnancy, baby or child. As a founder of Zephyr’s, along with her partner Martin Sommerville, Carly is a strong advocate of developing the support available for bereaved families.
