We also fund improvements to buildings and spaces within Nottingham’s hospitals themselves, to help make patients and their families feel as comfortable as possible during their stay with us.
This includes the parent and family accommodation at Queen’s Medical Centre, which was completely transformed recently as part of our 2020 Big Appeal. Having raised over £500,000, 22 family rooms, kitchens and other facilities were refurbished to support families of patients at the Nottingham Children’s Hospital.
Overnight accommodation is provided at the hospital for mums and dads to stay within minutes of children on critical care wards, and these vital rooms which provide a 24/7 family link during what can be an incredibly worrying time.
