Making a donation in lieu of flowers is a beautiful way to create a legacy for a loved one
A funeral service, remembrance service or memorial is often a time that brings family and friends together to celebrate a loved one’s life. It can be an emotional, reflective and often uplifting moment to come together, and can prompt you to think how best to create a legacy in their honour.
Asking for donations to Nottingham Hospitals Charity instead of flowers is a special and lasting way to remember your loved one.
There are a few ways for you to organise a collection in lieu of flowers, and we can support you every step of the way.
Collect donations online
You can set up a Tribute Fund for friends and family who may not be able to attend the funeral service or would prefer to donate online. We can help you through this process and explain how to share links with friends and family.
In person collections
Many people chose to organise a funeral collection themselves or through their funeral director. Once arrangements have been made, please get in touch with us so we can ensure your donation goes to the area of the hospital that is most meaningful to you.
It is important to us to thank you personally and you can expect to receive a letter from us a few weeks after the service.
How we can support
We can provide donation envelopes and collection boxes, which will allow your family and friends to donate using cash or cheque at the service. It will also allow them the option to add GiftAid to their donation. If you would like some donation envelopes, please use the form below to let us know how many you’d like and where to send them.
After you have collected your donations, please get in touch to arrange paying these in to the Charity.
Cheque donations
If you wish to do a collection yourself and send it to us via cheque, please make the cheque payable to ‘Nottingham Hospitals Charity’ and send it to:Nottingham Hospitals Charity
