Grant a Christmas Wish for a child in hospital
Help put a smile on the face of a child in hospital this Christmas, by giving a gift through our Grant a Christmas Wish campaign.
However much you choose to give, your donation will help provide a special present for a baby, child or young person in hospital this festive season.
No child wants to spend Christmas on a children’s ward, but with your help we can make sure this festive season is still full of fun, laughter and play for little ones at Nottingham Children’s Hospital.
Your donation to Grant a Christmas Wish can help provide toys such as LEGO®, games consoles and arts and crafts materials for our young patients.
All gifts will be specially selected by experienced Play Specialists at Nottingham Children’s Hospital, who know exactly which items will bring joy and excitement to the children on their wards.
At Christmas-time we often receive enquiries about purchasing presents and toys to deliver to children in hospital, and this is what inspired our Grant a Christmas Wish campaign.
For infection prevention and control reasons, some gifts aren’t suitable for a hospital ward. We also want to make sure children of all ages receive an appropriate gift, and through Grant a Christmas Wish we can make sure all the youngsters at Nottingham Children’s Hospital, whatever their ages or needs, receive something that will bring them joy and happiness on Christmas day.
Ashley Swift’s son Oliver has been treated at Nottingham Children’s Hospital for over three years, since he was diagnosed with a brain tumour at just five months old.
Ashley said: “Having a child in hospital is a heart-breaking time for any parent, but for your child to be in hospital over Christmas-time is unimaginable. It’s hard when you can’t give your child the Christmas they deserve, but to be able to give them some special gifts while they’re in hospital, and show them that people care, will make a world of difference.”
