We are so pleased to share the announcement that public fundraising can start to return this week (12 April onwards)!

It has been a tough 12 months for our fundraisers, with public events cancelled or postponed, and restrictions limiting how we see our loved ones, friends and local community.

Despite this, we have been so impressed by the imaginative ways that our fundraisers have rallied to support Nottingham Hospitals Charity – through digital events, virtual challenges and sponsorships as a household or bubble. The positivity and determination has shone through, throughout the darkest days in the pandemic.

We’re not out of the woods yet, and things may still change, but we certainly feel more optimistic about being able to get out there and raise vital funds for Nottingham’s NHS hospitals this Summer.

12 April onwards

The official Government announcement states that from this week, an event can take place if a) it happens outdoors, b) attendees arrive and leave in a staggered manner and c) it does not involve a discrete performance (e.g. a theatre or music performance).

This gives our fundraisers lots of options! From open gardens, outdoor coffee mornings, village fetes or community fairs – our diairies are already looking much busier!

What next?

From the 17 May, the guidelines currently state that some indoor events can happen from 17 May onwards, including gala dinners and auctions.

As always, we would strongly advise that current guidelines are adhered to, including social distancing and wearing of masks where appropriate. For specific guidance around public fundraising, visit the government guidelines here.

We are so excited to see our fundraisers do what they do best – raise money for their local NHS hospitals here in Nottingham, while having lots of fun in their community doing so!
