Research

We work closely with the NUH Research and Innovation Department to support research across our hospitals.

  • Each year there is £450,000 available through the Research Grant programme
  • Grants of up to £25,000 available for Pump Priming Research

Our Research Grant supports NUH staff to carry out local medical research.

We want to help teams develop new treatments, improve diagnosis and find better ways to care for patients.

We work closely with the NUH Research and Innovation Department to support research across our hospitals.

The Research Grant can support:

  • Research projects that improve patient care
  • New ideas and early-stage research
  • Small projects that may later attract larger funding
  • Pump Priming Research to help get a project started

Pump Priming Research gives early funding to test an idea and help you apply for bigger research grants in the future. 

Please note:

  • If a funded project has not started within one year, the grant will be withdrawn
  • All research must be carried out through the usual NUH Research and Innovation process

  • Up to £25,000

This is a competitive grant process and applications are invited through specific call-outs.
