Our Staff Development grants are split into two categories:
- Staff Development Grants
- Service Development Grants
When submitting your application form you will also be required to complete and upload a supporting statement from your Line Manager or Clincal Lead. The form can be downloaded below:
We are committed to supporting staff development that enhances professional practice and leads to measurable improvements in patient care. While individual learning is valued, funding must primarily benefit the wider team or service - not an individual’s personal Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Key requirements:
- Staff development requests must be a priority for the department and include plans to share learning with colleagues to improve patient care.
- The proposed conference or training must be directly relevant to the applicant’s current role and lead to enhanced team working and better outcomes for patients.
- Any benefit to the individual must be incidental, not the main purpose of the funding.
- Travel and accommodation will not be funded as standalone requests
- Presenting at a conference or having a poster accepted does not guarantee approval
- In-person attendance at International Conferences or Training events held outside the UK will not be funded - Requests for virtual attendance will be considered on a case-by-case basis
