Apply! Responsive Grants - small grants up to £25,000

  • Responsive grants for faster turn around projects
  • Up to £25,000

Responsive Grants are designed to help the Charity respond quickly to ideas and needs as they arise within the Trust.

Applications are split into two categories:

  • Under £5000
  • Over £5000

How we assess your grant application (under £5000)

When you submit your online form, it will be sent to our Grants Team for review.

1.

Step 1: Initial check

  • We first check that your application meets our charitable criteria and that we have all the information we need.
  • If anything is missing or your application is not eligible, we will contact you.
2.

Step 2: Review

  • If your application is eligible, it is reviewed by a Fund Advisor to assess the need, impact, and value of your proposal.
3.

Step 3: Furter approval

  • Grants of over £2,500 also need approval from the Charity’s Executive team.
4.

Step 4: Outcome

  • We will contact you to let you know the outcome of your application once the review process is complete.

Step 4: Further approvals

  • Depending on the size of the grant, your application may also require approval from a Charity’s Charity Executive and, for larger amounts, a Charity Trustees.
5.

Step 5: Decision

We will contact you to let you know the outcome of your application once the review process is complete.

We are looking for innovative projects that could make a difference across the Trust. These should be evidence-based, have clear and measurable outcomes, and show how they will improve the experience of patients, families and carers.

Your application should clearly explain:

  • How the project will benefit patients
  • How it improves or enhances current services
  • Why it offers good value for money
  • How you will measure the impact
  • How the project provides a wider public benefit
  • Whether it includes improved facilities or equipment
  • If it is a one-year pilot project, what you hope to learn and achieve

We are particularly interested in projects that:

  • Could be used across more than one area of the Trust
  • Introduce a new idea or approach
  • Add something extra that is not currently available

Before you submit your application, it must be approved by your Divisional Director and supported by the Trust Lead for Patient Experience.

The amount you apply for will decide which grant process your application goes through - the responsive grant process or large grant process.

These applications are part of our Responsive Grant Programme.

  • Apply for up to £5000
  • Reviewed on a rolling basis
  • Designed for smaller projects and immediate needs
  • Aims to give faster decisions
  • Funding is subject to the grant criteria being met

If you’re looking to apply for a patient experience grant between £5,000 and £25,000, this would still fall under our Responsive Grants programme.

  • These grants are intended for projects that are relatively straightforward to deliver but may require a larger budget or a broader scope of activity.
  • Applications in this category are reviewed on a regular basis, allowing for a quicker turnaround than larger grant programmes.

These applications are classed as Large Grants.

  • For projects over £25,000
  • Reviewed every quarter
  • Suitable for larger projects or projects with wider impact across the Trust
  • Decisions take longer because they go through the Large Grant process
