We all associate Christmas with gift-giving to loved ones but there are plenty of ways to support your local NHS and community this festive season.

Buy a present for a child in hospital with Grant a Wish

Imagine spending Christmas in hospital away from loved ones and the celebration of Christmas. Sadly, this is a reality for thousands of children at Nottingham Children’s Hospital but you can help bring some Christmas cheer to their day by buying a very special present just for them. From helping to buy games, cuddly toys, and arts and crafts supplies, you’ll help bring a smile to children in Nottingham.

Donate instead of a gift

Instead of asking for a physical gift, ask your loved ones to make a donation instead. All donations help support research, patient care, and staff support across Nottingham hospitals. There might be an area of the hospital you would like to donate to on their behalf or, just give them the joy of knowing that their present is making a difference across the Nottingham community.

Give a gift that keeps on giving

Want to give something over a longer period of time? Set up a regular gift of just £5 a month, that’s £60 for a whole year, and help fund vital projects that make a real impact here in Nottingham.

If you want to give more, you can. How much you donate each month is really up to you.

Don’t send Christmas cards, donate instead

Starting to plan your Christmas card list and realised that it’s long and expensive? We have a one-of-a-kind Christmas card calculator that helps work out how much you will spend on Christmas cards, including postage, and helps you convert that money into a donation.

Remember a loved one

We know the Christmas period can be a difficult time for those who have lost loved ones. We want to help you celebrate and remember those who are no longer with us by adding a light to one of our festive trees.

Alternatively, you can give a gift of a memory by adding to our Hayward House Memory Tree and let their memory continue. Each leaf stays on the tree for a year and is placed at the heart of Hayward House.

Celebrate a journey

If you have a loved one who may have had to go through the tough journey of breast cancer, you can celebrate their bravery and strength and show them how much you care by adding a special message to our Tree of Courage.

No matter how you choose to support Nottingham hospitals this festive season, every little bit helps bring some holiday cheer to patients and staff here in Nottingham.
