Welcome to your May update from Nottingham Hospitals Charity. This month you can find out how your donations are supporting therapeutic art sessions for patients at Hayward House, and why one mum ran the London Marathon in aid of Nottingham Children’s Hospital.
Thanks to your donations, we’ve funded a range of arts and crafts activities for patients receiving palliative care at Hayward House.
As well as providing a welcome distraction from their treatment, patients are also benefiting from the sense of community and connection the art sessions are fostering.
Don’t look down! Join this year’s Big QMC Abseil
Our ever-popular Big QMC Abseil is back on Saturday 6th September – do you dare to take on the drop?
For the first time ever we’re able to welcome abseilers from the age of 13, so why not get your young daredevils to join you and make it a family challenge!
Thanks to your donations, we’ve funded some special books to support children who have a loved one being cared for in the Intensive Care Unit. The books aim to help ease children’s anxiety during this difficult experience.
Read Georgie’s story about why she ran the London Marathon for Nottingham Children’s Hospital, after her son was taken to hospital for a broken leg, but unexpectedly diagnosed with a brain tumour at the same time.
It’s not too late to join our fantastic team of Robin Hood Half Marathon runners! Take on the half marathon or mini marathon on Sunday 28th September, in aid of your chosen area of Nottingham’s hospitals.
