Welcome to your April update from Nottingham Hospitals Charity. This month is packed with exciting events, and we’re also celebrating one year of the Homebirth Team and welcoming Paralympian Richard Whitehead MBE to the new Mobility Centre Children’s Annexe.
We were thrilled to join the Homebirth Team in celebrating their first anniversary.
Since its launch, we’ve proudly helped fund most of the birth pools, enabling many parents to experience the joy of home birth, surrounded by loved ones and in the comfort of their own space.
Join our team of fearless abseilers this September as we take on the Big QMC Abseil! Whether you're looking to give back to your community or show gratitude for the care a loved one received, this is your chance to make a difference.
Due to popular demand, we’ve lowered the minimum age to 13, meaning the whole family can take on the drop. Are you ready for the challenge?
We welcomed Paralympic gold medallist Richard Whitehead MBE to the new Mobility Centre Children's Annexe. He toured the facility, seeing first-hand how it will support young patients needing prosthetic limbs and bespoke wheelchairs.
During his visit, Richard reunited with young fundraiser William Reckless, whom he has supported through his foundation. He also helped deliver toys, games, and activities to brighten the waiting room for children and young people.

Big Appeal ambassador and Stuart Broad’s mum, Carole Joyce, visited both of Nottingham’s hospital Neonatal Units, reflecting on nearly 39 years of change.
A year after being told there was “no hope”, 19-year-old Dan Evans defied the odds.
Now he’s given back to the ward which played a vital role in his treatment and recovery.
