We’ve written 10 rounds for you, to take the stress away from thinking up questions on your own! However, if you’d like to write your own round, perhaps on a specialist subject, there’s a blank form for that too.
We’ve also provided tips on how to run a good quiz, joker cards, extra fundraising ideas for your quiz night and ideas for further quiz rounds and activities.
Things to think about
- How many people? Are you a cosy group of six or are you planning an ambitious 50+ quiz night? Whatever your vision – our quiz pack can help!
- Where will you host it? Will you all be online or meeting in person? Depending on your format, explore different streaming tools (perhaps Teams, Google Meet or Zoom), or look into venues. Perhaps a pub, community centre or even your office could cater to your numbers.
- How will you collect donations? To fundraise for Nottingham Hospitals Charity, think about who will be responsible for the money side of things.
- Will you offer prizes? Big doesn’t necessarily mean better! Remember it’s a fundraising event so don’t feel like you have to splurge on a prize – though a wooden spoon for the lowest-scoring team can make people laugh.
- Who will be quizmaster? No quiz is complete without a confident host asking the questions!
- What about food and drink? Will you offer refreshments to your quizzers? If so, consider dietary requirements and allergies, just in case.

How to raise money
It’s really easy to fundraise for Nottingham Hospitals Charity with a quiz.
You can ask quizzers for a donation as an entry fee, perhaps £10 a head or £30 a team.
After you’ve collected your entry fees, you can make a one off donation to Nottingham Hospitals Charity by visiting our Donate page, or set up a JustGiving fundraising page for everyone to contribute to.
The money you raise from hosting a quiz will help to support our work at Nottingham’s hospitals. You can choose which area or ward you would like to support, or we will make sure the money goes where it is needed most. We want to ensure that every patient has the best possible care in our hospitals.
