How Nottingham Hospitals Charity is supporting breast cancer patients in Nottingham

Here at Nottingham Hospitals Charity, we want to ensure that patients undergoing treatment for breast cancer receive the very best care possible. From diagnosis to treatment and recovery, we’re here every step of the way.

Leading the way in breast cancer care

The Nottingham Breast Institute is one of the UK’s leading centres for breast cancer care. Since its opening, donations from supporters have helped us to:

Fund pioneering research that helps improve the early detection of the disease
Support more accurate diagnosis through equipment
Enable more personalised and targeted treatments
Enhance and improve facilities so patients feel more comfortable during their time in hospital

Many patients who have undergone treatment at the Nottingham Breast Institute are grateful for the continued support they receive, and they want to make a difference for future patients who walk through the doors.

One of these inspirational fundraisers is Sallyann Petts, who was diagnosed with breast cancer twice and has since raised over £18,000 to support research into the disease, taking place here in Nottingham. You can read her story here.

A specialist piece of equipment is providing clinicians with a chance to detect breast cancer early and reduce the need for more invasive diagnostic techniques.

A special clinical room recently opened next to ward Harvey 2 at City Hospital and is reducing the need for patients undergoing breast cancer treatment to stay in hospital.
