This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we want to highlight one of our incredible fundraisers, Sallyann Petts.
Sallyann Petts has been raising money for the breast cancer research taking place at the Nottingham Breast Institute since she was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 37. She has raised more than £18,000 for Nottingham Hospitals Charity since starting her annual Strawberry Tea and Ladies Pamper Afternoon events in 2012.
Sallyann explained: “After being diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 37, and the fantastic treatment that I received from the Breast Institute, I wanted to make it my mission to give something back and raise money for Professor Chan's research taking place at the Breast Institute.”
Talking about the care she received at Nottingham hospitals, Sallyann said: “Every person that I have met that has worked at the Breast Institute has been amazing. Everyone from the doctors and nurses to the volunteers who help in the coffee shop, everyone has a welcoming and calming smile.”
The money Sallyann raises helps fund local breast cancer research taking place here in Nottingham. Donations through Nottingham Hospitals Charity enable us to fund research being conducted by consultants right here at Nottingham hospitals.

Sallyann, along with her sister Jacqueline and niece Laura, has worked tirelessly over the past 13 years to keep raising funds for the Nottingham Breast Institute, putting on a fantastic fundraising event every year for her friends and families.
