Welcome to your June update from Nottingham Hospitals Charity. This month you can find out how you’re helping us keep young patients at Nottingham Children’s Hospital calm and distracted during appointments. And we’re sharing the exciting news that the next phase of work on Hayward House palliative care centre has begun, as part of our Hayward House Appeal.
Thanks to supporters of our Big Appeal, we’ve been able to fund a new sensory trolley to help keep children calm and relaxed during hospital visits.
The activity station is frequently used by children who are having blood taken, to keep them calm and distracted, and contains a variety of fun sensory activities.
Building work starts on Hayward House entrance
Thanks to all those who have supported our Hayward House Appeal, work has now begun on improving the front entrance area at Hayward House palliative care centre.
The enhancements to the main entrance and reception area will help create a more calming and welcoming atmosphere for patients and their loved ones during their time in Hayward House.
A colourful new mural has been unveiled at the City Hospital’s Outpatients department, to brighten up hospital visits for patients. It was funded by the incredible fundraising efforts of our supporter Adam, in memory of his wife Clare.
Last week was Volunteers’ Week, and we’re thrilled to report that the hours given by our volunteers over the past year has increased by a phenomenal 323% on the previous year! Wow! Thank you to all our amazing volunteers.
Do you dare to take on the drop? Join our fantastic Big QMC Abseil on Saturday 6th September, and abseil 100ft down the side of the Queen’s Medical Centre in aid of your chosen area of Nottingham’s hospitals. Now open to ages 13 plus!
