Patients, families and members of the local community came together over the past week for three special evenings of festive creativity at Hayward House.
Our first ever wreath making workshops were hugely popular, with tickets selling out in a matter of days, raising more than £2,300 in total.
The events, which were kindly sponsored by P&I Group, saw attendees create their own beautiful festive wreaths, to hang in their homes or on their front doors.
Talented local florist Rachel Towle kicked off the first workshop with a special demonstration, and attendees enjoyed Christmas music, drinks and snacks while they made their creations.
All money raised through ticket sales for the events will go towards supporting patients and families at Hayward House palliative care centre.
Rhia Simmonds attended one of the workshops and said: “It was very good – welcoming staff, really good options for the wreath. The facilities, staff friendliness and overall atmosphere was great.”
Lizzie Corkery also attended and said: “Great workshop! Fantastic idea, I would definitely come again. All the staff were very friendly. I look forward to coming next year!”
Michelle Dorman, Senior Community Fundraising Manager at Nottingham Hospitals Charity, said: “We had a wonderful time at our first ever wreath making workshops. I’d like to thank everyone who came along to join in the festive cheer, all in aid of patients and families at Hayward House.
“I’d also like to thank our event sponsors P&I Group for enabling these workshops to take place, as well as A. W. Lymn, Trowell Garden Centre and B&Q Netherfield for providing some extra materials for our guests to use. We were really impressed with everyone’s creations!”
