From Monday 5th to Sunday 11th October, Nottingham Hospitals Charity and Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH) are holding their first ever Thank You Week .
The campaign marks the 20th anniversary of both organisations, and is an opportunity to recognise hospital staff, volunteers and supporters for all they have helped to achieve over the two decades.
As part of this, we'd like to thank every individual, group and organisation who has fundraised, donated or supported Nottingham Hospitals Charity over the past 20 years - your support has helped make incredible things happen.
If there's someone special at our hospitals you'd like to thank, you can also get involved by leaving your message of thanks on our special online dedication page here.
Throughout Thank You Week, we're funding a range of activities for staff and volunteers across NUH, including visits from therapy dogs, thank you cards and deliveries, musical performances at restaurants across the hospital sites, special wellbeing activities, and discounted meals at hospital sites – including City Hospital, Queen’s Medical Centre, Ropewalk House and the National Rehabilitation Centre.
We're also holding our first ever Thank-a-thon on Tuesday 6th October, with the aim of saying a personal ‘thank you’ to over 500 supporters in one day! Our charity team will make hundreds of phone calls and send out dozens of thank you cards to people like you who have donated or fundraised for Nottingham’s hospitals over the past year.
Sam Cousens, Director of Fundraising, Marketing and Communications at Nottingham Hospitals Charity, said: “We are so incredibly grateful to all the staff, volunteers and supporters from across Nottinghamshire and beyond, who have supported our Nottingham NHS hospitals over the past 20 years.
“With the support of our donors, fundraisers and hospital staff, we’ve been able to make amazing things happen at NUH – from pioneering equipment like an intra-operative MRI scanner to improve outcomes for children undergoing brain surgery, to small but meaningful touches like colourful artwork on the walls to make hospital stays a little brighter and less daunting.
“We’re really excited to kick off Thank You Week and recognise as many as possible of the amazing individuals who have supported the hospitals in so many different ways over the past two decades.”
