Local company Clearmark Solutions, based in Nottingham, have donated £1,000 in memory of a much-loved colleague, Jeff Simpkins.
Jeff received treatment from the Head and Neck Cancer and ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) Speech and Language Therapy team at Nottingham Hospitals, and used to raise money for the hospital to thank them for the care he received.
After Jeff sadly passed away, his colleagues continued in his fundraising footsteps, and raised a further £1,000 for the ENT Speech and Language Therapy team.
Chris Simpson, Managing Director of Clearmark Solutions, said: “We miss Jeff very much, our business is 20 years old this year and Jeff is the first employee to pass away in our service. We saw Jeff deal with his health struggles with great courage and dignity, during this time we also came to understand how much he enjoyed and valued his work.
“Jeff also valued the friends he made at Clearmark – he was a private man whose friends and family meant a great deal to him, and we are proud to know that he counted us amongst them.
“During Jeff’s illness it was clear that he was often in pain and had much reduced energy levels, he still came in to work as often as he could and although the pace of his work reduced significantly, the quality never did – a fact which shows the pride he applied to it.
“We are very grateful for the care and support Jeff received. The last 12 months have reminded us frequently how fortunate we are to have our NHS and the remarkable people who work in it.”
Thank you to everyone at Clearmark Solutions for their special donation in Jeff’s memory.
