This year marks the 20th anniversary of Nottingham Hospitals Charity - and with your help, we've raised more than £64 million for Nottingham’s NHS hospitals over the past two decades!
You can join in the celebrations by taking on one of the charity’s fun and challenging fundraising events in 2026. From a Dragon Boat Race down the River Trent, to a Charity Golf Day, the Big Bake, and the ever-popular Big QMC Abseil, which sees participants abseil almost 100 feet down the side of the Queen’s Medical Centre, there is an event for everyone.
Details of more events are to be announced in the coming weeks – including a glamorous Gala Dinner and a Family Fun Day.
Nigel Gregory, Chief Executive of Nottingham Hospitals Charity, said: “We’re delighted to be celebrating our 20th anniversary year, and we want to involve as many people from across the local community as possible.
“It’s thanks to the people of Nottinghamshire and beyond that we’ve been able to rase more than £64 million to support Nottingham’s hospitals over the past 20 years, and we want to do even more over the next 20.
“I’d like to thank each and every individual, family, community group and local business who has supported Nottingham Hospitals Charity over the years, and helped us to fund some life-changing projects here at Nottingham’s hospitals.
Nottingham Hospitals Charity funds projects which support patients, families and staff at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust – which includes the City Hospital, Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham Children’s Hospital, and Ropewalk House.
Projects funded over the past 20 years include £2.1million of enhancements to the new Wolfson Cystic Fibrosis Centre, which opened at the City Hospital in 2014, and £2.9million towards an intra-operative MRI scanner for Nottingham Children’s Hospital in 2020, which transformed children’s brain tumour treatment.
