Applications open for the National Pump Priming Research Fund competition

The Nottingham Hospitals Charity Research Fund Pump Priming competition is now open for applications from across England.

The fund will encourage and support healthcare professionals in early-stage research and help them take the next steps toward successful major research funding applications.

Grants will be awarded of up to £25,000 to successful applications.

Applications are particularly welcomed in the following clinical specialties/diseases:

  • Clinical Haematology
  • Oncology
  • Mental health
  • Hearing loss
  • Inflammatory diseases including gastrointestinal & liver disorders and musculoskeletal conditions
  • Major trauma and orthopaedic surgery
  • Respiratory diseases
  • Children’s health
  • Genetics

The purpose of the fund is to promote high quality, multi-disciplinary research proposals, to help pilot clinical research studies, and to encourage applications to apply for more external funding for their research.

This competition is run by Nottingham Hospitals Charity and clinical professionals from across England are encouraged to apply.

The closing date for applications is Wednesday 10 January 2024

Nottingham Hospitals Charity is working in collaboration with the Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust Research and Innovation department to oversee all applications and to ensure successful delivery of the project outcomes.
