Room at The Robin Centre - Nottingham Hospitals Charity

About The Robin Centre

The Robin Centre is a special place for bereaved families to access support and counselling services, if they have experienced the loss of a pregnancy, baby or child.

This might include late miscarriage, termination for medical reasons, stillbirth, neonatal loss and/or pregnancy after loss.

We know it can be an incredibly vulnerable time for parents and loved ones. That’s why the Robin Centre has a homely, comforting feel, and is tucked away in the Nottingham Hospitals Charity building, away from clinical areas.

It is a space where families can be away from the busy activity of the hospital, and meet with clinicians and chaplaincy in private.

Dr Sophie Wilne, Nottingham Children’s Hospital:

“The Robin Centre is a great resource because most of our treatment happens at QMC and families sometimes find it hard to come back. I’ve had many meetings with families there and to be able to have a coffee and sit in a slightly less formal environment, while still on the hospital campus, is really useful.”

Sue Edwards, Chaplain at NUH

Sue Edwards, Chaplain at NUH:

“Sometimes meeting a patient or family members in hospital reminds them of what happened there. In the Robin Centre it is less clinical and feels more like a ‘homely’ space. To meet colleagues in the Robin Centre for support, means that you can meet them privately, in a more informal setting away from where they might work.”
