With many of Nottingham’s traditional sporting events not taking place this year, Nottingham Hospitals Charity has launched a virtual ‘Robin Run’ in aid of the city’s NHS hospitals.
The Charity is urging people across Nottingham to join together virtually to get fit and support their local NHS at the same time. The 13.1-mile ‘Robin Run’ challenge can be run throughout September, or as a single half marathon for more experienced runners.
Participants can choose their own route and take part either on their own, or with the rest of their household. Money can be raised online and participants can choose which area of Nottingham’s hospitals to support.
Join our team of runners and raise money by taking on a 13.1 challenge at your pace, in your city, for your local @nottmhospitals❤️🏃🏹

Louise Knight, Head of Fundraising at Nottingham Hospitals Charity, said: “We’ve seen a huge amount of support for our NHS from the local community in recent months, which has been extremely touching. We know that many people across the city have received care – or have loved ones who have received care – at the QMC or City Hospital, and are keen to give something back to their local NHS.
“By taking part in our new ‘Robin Run’ challenge you can run at your pace, in your city, for your local hospitals. It’s an opportunity to get fit, have fun and raise money for an extremely important cause.”
Robin Run is proudly sponsored by Nottingham brand 200° Coffee. Rob Darby, CEO at 200° Coffee said: “We are delighted to be supporting the Robin Run in association Nottingham Hospitals Charity. The Charity does amazing work for patients, families, and carers throughout the Trust. During this very difficult pandemic, so much has been cancelled and it feels great to be supporting this amazing initiative to get as many people as possible participating in a half marathon in the absence of a large group event.”
Who are 200° Coffee?
Some time, several years ago, two bar owners wanted to serve the best possible cup of coffee to their customers. Thus began a search, that started with a journey, which became an obsession, and lead to two men being alone in the corner of a garage (with a coffee roaster) until finally, in 2012 they created 200 Degrees Coffee and decided to show the world, starting with Nottingham. That was the beginning, there are now eleven coffee shops and five barista schools around the UK as well as hundreds of happy customers enjoying our beans at their home and work.
We think that enjoying the perfect cup of coffee is not just about taste; it’s about doing things the right way, and that philosophy guides every aspect of our coffee shops. All of us put our hearts and taste buds into creating the perfect cup of coffee and we begin by sourcing ethically traded beans using Rainforest Alliance Certified farms around the world, from the mountains of Brazil to the hill tracts of South India.
We place ourselves firmly on the side of speciality roasters and independent coffee shops. Our venues are quite big for an independent and we like to feel we’ve gone to every effort to make them as welcoming as possible. Our food is prepared from fresh everyday in each shop, the seats are comfy, the WiFi works and the staff are trained to the highest level and very happy to chat to customers about which coffee to choose and why.
It's not too late to get involved and support your local @nottmhospitals this September ❤️
