The Head Roaster at popular Nottingham coffee specialists 200° Coffee is taking on our virtual ‘Robin Run’ in aid of Nottingham Hospitals.
Mike Steele is taking on the 13.1-mile challenge to thank hospital staff for all they have done to support the people of Nottingham during the coronavirus pandemic.
Mike had hoped to sign up to the Robin Hood Half Marathon, but when it was cancelled he jumped at the chance to take part in Nottingham Hospitals Charity’s virtual Robin Run instead.
He said: “I’ve always wanted to take on a challenge like the Robin Hood Half, and was so disappointed when it was cancelled. But then we heard about Nottingham Hospitals Charity’s virtual Robin Run, and it sounded like the perfect way to still take on a challenge, and raise money for my local NHS hospitals at the same time.”
Our 13.1-mile Robin Run challenge, which is also sponsored by 200° Coffee, can be run throughout September, or as a single half marathon for more experienced runners.
Participants can choose their own route and take part either on their own, or with other members of their household. Money can be raised online and participants can choose which area of Nottingham’s hospitals to support.
Rob Darby, CEO of 200° Coffee, said: “We’re so proud to be supporting this virtual event in aid of Nottingham Hospitals Charity – not only by being the event sponsors, but also cheering on our very own Mike as he takes part in the challenge.
“As a local company we want to do all we can to support our local NHS at this challenging time. I have family who work for Nottingham Hospitals so I know first-hand how dedicated our amazing NHS staff are, and we’re so proud to support them.”
